From 2014 – 2020 Council operated with a Section 23 Committee arrangement, in accordance with Section 23 of the Local Government Act 1993. With the onset of COVID-19 in March, Council suspended the Infrastructure, Works and Development, and Governance, Finance and Community Services Committee meetings. The suspension of these Committees continued for the duration of 2020, with all business previously referred to Committee meetings, being considered directly by the whole of Council at monthly Ordinary meetings. At the December 2020 Ordinary meeting, Council resolved to discontinue the Infrastructure, Works and Development Committee and the Governance, Finance and Community Services Committee.
Planning Authority Committee meetings are still held on an as needed basis.
