General Manager’s Roll for Local Government Elections
Local government elections are held every four years in October (next: October 2026).
Tasmanian councils represent their communities and provide local services and infrastructure.
Voting
- Compulsory for people on the State Electoral Roll
- Not compulsory for those on the General Manager’s Roll
Who can vote in Devonport?
You can vote if you are:
- On the State Electoral Roll at a Devonport address, or
- Enrolled on the General Manager’s Roll for Devonport
General Manager’s Roll – Eligibility
You may be eligible if you:
- Live in Devonport but are not eligible for the State Electoral Roll (e.g. not an Australian citizen), or
- Own or occupy property in Devonport but don’t live there, or
- Are a representative of a company that owns or occupies property in Devonport
Enrolment is not automatic — you must apply.
